Front Desk Manager

Southern Elite Gymnastics Academy is looking for a Front Desk Manager to be the face of our gym and the first point of contact for our parents and students. We are looking for an individual who is friendly, welcoming, and has a willingness to learn. We will provide training on our class management software.

Responsibilities

The following outlines the expectations of preschool instructors:

  • Respond to communications from parents and students. This will include checking messages, answering phone calls, answering emails, and responding to all inquiries in a timely manor

  • Willingness to learn our class management system. Once trained, you will be expected to have a thorough understanding of the system and all its related functions

  • Ensure each coach is recording accurate attendance in the Jackrabbit system

  • Assisting parents with class and event registration

  • Ensuring that the opening and closing procedures are executed every day. The front desk manager will be expected to arrive at the gym 15 minutes prior to the start of classes to ensure the gym is clean, open, and ready for students and stay until the end of classes to ensure it is properly organized and sanitized before closing. 

  • The front desk manager will be responsible for restocking the lobby with items for sale including leotards, grips, clothing, and snacks

Scheduling:

  • This is a part time position expected to work an average of 20-30 hours per week. You may request days off however you will be responsible for ensuring that a trained employee is at the front desk at all times to accurately perform all expected duties. There may be opportunities for additional hours with birthday parties, camps, clinics, and other assigned events. 

Payment:

  • The front desk manager is paid hourly. Rates are determined during the interview process and are based on experience and availability.

Preschool Instructor

Southern Elite Gymnastics Academy is hiring preschool instructors! We are looking for individuals with prior gymnastics coaching and preschool experience who have already acquired a knowledge of gymnastics terms and basic coaching skills.  We will provide lesson plans and program specific training! Our coaches need tons of energy and patience, and they must be reliable and arrive at scheduled classes.

Responsibilities

The following outlines the expectations of preschool instructors:

  • Instruct and supervise tumbling classes with skill levels varying from rolls and cartwheels up to running tumbling and twisting.

  • Set up stations/rotations that are skill appropriate for all scheduled classes.

  • Communicate with parents on tumblers progress.

Class Placement:

  • You will be assigned to classes that best suit your schedule, personality, and experience level.

Scheduling:

  • This is a part time position and you are welcome to request days, hours and times that fit your needs and schedule. However, they need to be the same day(s) and time(s) each week. There will be other opportunities for extra hours with our birthday parties, preschool fun gym, parents night out, clinics, camps, and other assigned events.

Payment:

  • Preschool instructors are paid hourly. Rates are determined during the interview process and are based on experience and availability.

Tumbling Instructor

Southern Elite Gymnastics Academy is hiring tumbling instructors! Business Manager

Southern Elite Gymnastics Academy is looking to hire a Business Manager to serve as the “right-hand” person to the head coach, helping him or her implement his or her vision for the gym.

 

Responsibilities

The following outlines the expectations of the business manager:

  • Budget – The business manager will work closely with the head coach to create an annual budget for the gym and will be expected to keep track of all revenue and expenses incurred by the gym.
    Software Management – The gym uses Jackrabbit Class to manage enrollment, add new staff, schedule classes, take online payments, and communicate with gym families. It is imperative that the business manager be fluent and confident in using this system.

  • Registration and Billing – Once the head coach sets the schedule for the season, the business manager will coordinate the infrastructure (Jackrabbit and website) to enable parents to register their children. The business manager will be responsible for posting tuition and collecting payments each month.

  • Front Desk Management – The business manager will be responsible for managing the front desk schedule and training staff to execute front desk tasks and activities. The business manager will ensure that a trained employee is at the front desk at all times to register students and answer parents’ questions.

  • Attendance – The business manager will be responsible for training gym staff to clock in upon arrival and clock out when leaving. The business manager will also train staff how to take class attendance in Jackrabbit through tablets provided by the gym.

  • Retail Store Management – The business manager will be responsible for selling and replenishing retail store items such as snacks, drinks, and leotards.

  • Communication Management – The business manager will serve as the anchor point for all communication. He or she will be responsible for communicating both big picture vision, as set forth by the head coach, as well as routine schedule and billing/tuition notices. The business manager must have good writing skills and be able to communicate clearly and persuasively. The business manager is expected to be comfortable with the following:

    • Email Newsletters – The business manager will write the monthly email newsletter, “The Energy Current,” and send out through Jackrabbit.

    • Website Content Updates – The business manager will oversee website updates produced by Bryan Moseley.

    • Social Media – The business manager will oversee the information being shared by the social media advisor, Stephanie Cauller.

  • Meet Registration – The business manager is expected to support the head coach by managing the registration process for the team for meet events. This includes registering the gymnasts, collecting associated fees, finding hotels, and paying staff to attend the meet.

  • Membership – The gym is a member of several important gymnastics organizations, such as AAU and USAG. The business manager will be expected to keep track of these memberships and pay associated fees.

  • New Staff Orientation – The business manager will on-board new employees, ensuring that they complete all paperwork for the personnel folder, read the employee handbook, and complete all necessary CPR and first aid training.

  • Payroll and Workers Comp – The business manager will be responsible for paying all coaches and staff.

  • Bill Payment – The business manager will be responsible for paying all routine gym bills such as rent and utilities. The business manager will be responsible for managing relationships with all third-party vendors.

  • Insurance – The business manager will work closely with the head coach to ensure that the gym has adequate insurance coverage.

  • Facilities Management – The business manager will work closely with the head coach to ensure the gym is clean, safe, and well-maintained. The business manager will be responsible for managing the routine cleaning of the gym, scheduling any facility repair work, and ordering any supplies (chalk for bars, bathroom tissue, etc).

Payment, Benefits, and On-going Education

In exchange for these services, assistant coaches may expect the following:

  • Base Salary – The gym will support the business manager with an annual base salary. An exact amount will be discussed during the interview process.

  • Revenue Sharing/Bonuses – The gym will provide the business manager the opportunity to keep a percentage of the overall revenue generated by the gym and/or bonuses based on the achievement of the goals outlined for the gym. (For example, doubling enrollment).  An exact plan will be discussed during the interview process and customized each year to meet annual goals.

  • Ongoing Education – The gym will support the business manager with ongoing education opportunities, such as database management training and communication training.

  • Vacation – The gym assumes that the business manager will take approximately 2 weeks of vacation as well as standard holidays.

Assistant Instructor

Southern Elite Gymnastics Academy is looking to hire assistant gymnastics coaches for all ages and levels. Are you an active person with a love for children, an upbeat attitude, and a trainable spirit?  If so, you’ll be a great fit with our team!  No prior gymnastics experience is required!   

 

Responsibilities

The following outlines the expectations of assistant coaches:

  • Attend staff meetings and training

  • Setup equipment needed for instruction

  • Assist in executing gymnastics lessons and skill development plans

  • Ability to redirect students positively when they get off track

  • Build relationships with the parents

  • Oversee break-down of equipment and clean-up

  • Complete 1-2 small chores to keep the gym clean

  • Be willing to be a team player

Class Placement

We will place you in classes best suited to your personality and experience level.  Once you complete your interview and have an initial training, you will undergo “live training” during actual classes with the Head Coach or another assistant coach.  This will allow us to determine which class type you are best suited for – Team, Developmental, or Preschool.

No gymnastics experience is required

Even if you’ve never been a gymnast, we can train you how to teach a beginner class that focuses on foundational skills. Assistant Team Coaches can lead conditioning and flexibility exercises, or manage drill stations that help gymnasts build strength for specific skills. If you’ve participated in any sport before, or are a physically active and fit person, you can easily be trained for these tasks and responsibilities.

Scheduling

This is a part-time position, and you are welcome to request hours, days, and times that fit your needs and schedule.  However, they need to be the same day(s) and time(s) each week.  We need assistant coaches during all hours the gym is open, and we also need coaches Saturday afternoons for birthday parties and Saturday evenings during Fun Gym.

Payment, Benefits, and On-going Education

In exchange for these services, assistant coaches may expect the following:

  • Hourly Wages – Assistant coaches are paid hourly. Rates are determined during the interview process based on experience level. Coaches are paid monthly between the first and fifth of the month.

  • Ongoing Education – The gym will support assistant coaches with ongoing education and certification opportunities to ensure the success of the programs as well as safety of the gymnasts.

  • Professional Growth – We are looking to hire a Developmental Gymnastics Director and Preschool Director. We anticipate promoting assistant coaches to these roles during the course of the year.

  • Free Gymnastics Classes – The children of Southern Elite Gymnastics Academy employees who are employed 20 hours/week or more are permitted to attend classes at no charge, as long as the child is not taking the place of a potential paying student.  Note: this does not include sub-contractor classes such as Judo and Parkour.
