Business Manager

Southern Elite Gymnastics Academy offers high-quality gymnastics instruction to children of all ages and abilities. In addition to our team and recreational gymnastics program, SEGA offers martial arts, parkour, and aerial silks. The following outlines the responsibilities of the business manager

 

Responsibilities

The business manager will serve as the "right-hand man" to the head coach helping him or her implement his or her vision for the gym. Responsibilities include:

  • Budget – The business manager will work closely with the head coach to create an annual budget for the gym and will be expected to keep track of all revenue and expenses incurred by the gym.

  • Software Management – The gym uses Jackrabbit Class to manage enrollment, add new staff, schedule classes, take online payments, and communicate with gym families. It is imperative that the business manager be fluent and confident in using this system.

  • Registration and Billing – Once the head coach sets the schedule for the season, the business manager will coordinate the infrastructure (Jackrabbit and website) to enable parents to register their children. The business manager will be responsible for posting tuition and collecting payments each month.

  • Front Desk Management – The business manager will be responsible for managing the front desk schedule and training staff to execute front desk tasks and activities. The business manager will ensure that a trained employee is at the front desk at all times to register students and answer parents’ questions.

  • Attendance – The business manager will be responsible for training gym staff to clock in upon arrival and clock out when leaving. The business manager will also train staff how to take class attendance in Jackrabbit through tablets provided by the gym.

  • Retail Store Management – The business manager will be responsible for selling and replenishing retail store items such as snacks, drinks, and leotards.

  • Communication Management – The business manager will serve as the anchor point for all communication. He or she will be responsible for communicating both big picture vision, as set forth by the head coach, as well as routine schedule and billing/tuition notices. The business manager must have good writing skills and be able to communicate clearly and persuasively. The business manager is expected to be comfortable with the following:

    • Email Newsletters – The business manager will write the monthly email newsletter, and send out through Jackrabbit.

    • Website Content Updates – The business manager will oversee website updates produced by Faith Edwards

    • Social Media – The business manager will oversee the information being shared by the social media advisor, Faith Edwards.

  • Meet Registration – The business manager is expected to support the head coach by managing the registration process for the team for meet events. This includes registering the gymnasts, collecting associated fees, finding hotels, and paying staff to attend the meet.

  • Membership – The gym is a member of several important gymnastics organizations, such as AAU and USAG. The business manager will be expected to keep track of these memberships and pay associated fees.

  • New Staff Orientation – The business manager will on-board new employees, ensuring that they complete all paperwork for the personnel folder, read the employee handbook, and complete all necessary CPR and first aid training.

  • Payroll and Workers Comp – The business manager will be responsible for paying all coaches and staff.

  • Bill Payment – The business manager will be responsible for paying all routine gym bills such as rent and utilities. The business manager will be responsible for managing relationships with all third-party vendors.

  • Insurance – The business manager coordinate and maintain updated insurance coverage.

  • Facilities Management – The business manager will work closely with the head coach to ensure the gym is clean, safe, and well-maintained. The business manager will be responsible for managing the routine cleaning of the gym, scheduling any facility repair work, and ordering any supplies.

Payment, Benefits, and On-going Education

In return for these services, the gym will provide:

  • Base Salary – The gym will support the business manager with an annual base salary. An exact amount will be discussed during the interview process.

  • Revenue Sharing/Bonuses – The gym will provide the business manager the opportunity to keep a percentage of the overall revenue generated by the gym and/or bonuses based on the achievement of the goals outlined for the gym. (For example, doubling enrollment).  An exact plan will be discussed during the interview process and customized each year to meet annual goals.

  • Ongoing Education – The gym will support the business manager with ongoing education opportunities, such as database management training.

  • Vacation – The gym assumes that the business manager will take approximately 2 weeks of vacation as well as standard holidays.

Gymnastics Instructor

Southern Elite Gymnastics Academy is hiring an instructor to teach preschool and developmental gymnastics! We are looking for individuals with prior gymnastics instruction experience who have already acquired a knowledge of gymnastics terms and basic coaching skills.  Our coaches need tons of energy and patience, and they must be reliable and arrive at scheduled classes.

Responsibilities

The following outlines the expectations of the Gymnastics Coach:

  • Instruct and supervise preschool and developmental level gymnastics classes.

  • Set up stations/rotations age appropriate for all scheduled classes.

  • Redirect gymnast positively when they get off task.

  • Communicate with parents on gymnast progress.

Class Placement:

  • You will be assigned to classes that best suit your personality and experience level.

Scheduling:

  • This is a part time position and you are welcome to request days, hours and times that fit your needs and schedule. However, they need to be the same day(s) and time(s) each week. There will be other opportunities for extra hours with our birthday parties, preschool fun gym, parents night out, clinics and other assigned events.

Payment:

  • Gymnastics instructors are paid hourly. Rates are determined during the interview process and are based on experience and availability.
